We consider functional issues to include: efficient vehicular and pedestrian circulation, user group safety, energy & infrastructure, and ease ofmaintenance issues. Urban connectivity is a critical issue in the creation of compelling urban environments. Dense, walkable, mixed-use environments that reduce our reliance on the car are paramount.

 

We ask, "does the design circulate effectively - pedestrians, bicycles, pubic transportation, vehicles, service? Is it safe? Is it easily maintained? Is the infrastructure energy efficient & sustainably visioned?"

 

  • More people in the street results in less crime.

  • More pedestrians and bicycles in green corridors results in less traffic.

  • Centralized parking concepts connected to public transport and bicycle traffic will lead to more efficient urban transportation.

  • In urban revitalization, the maintenance costs are less with landscape architectural solutions.
